Description: Tucked away along the shore of Sebec Lake, this park is an undiscovered gem of the state park system. Campers may enjoy a relaxing family-oriented experience in this setting with 56 wooded sites that serve to promote privacy. The entire park covers 813 acres and includes flush toilets, a beach, bath house with showers, lifeguard, and picnic area in the day use portion of the park. Ten miles of hiking trails run throughout the park and are not heavily used. This clean and well-maintained park has some of the highest quality water in Maine. Park is located 4.5 miles from the nearest medical and service center.
During the peak summer season, both the beach and campsites are popular. The park’s beach area will fill to capacity on hot summer days, which causes lines to form at the park’s entrance. Campers are encouraged to reserve sites through the Bureau’s reservation system, which opens in February of each year. See www.campwithme.com.
Season: Park opens May 15th and Closes October 1st.
Off-season: Park is available to hikers and cross country skiers year round by parking outside the gate and walking or skiing in.
Special Notes of Interest: There is a public boat launch located in another location about two miles away from the park at Greeley’s landing where visitors may launch their boats. Park maps and more info can be found at the first website below.
Directions:From Guilford: Follow Routes 6 & 15 to the traffic light in Dover-Foxcroft. Turn left at the light and follow Rt. 153 straight for approximately 4.5 miles to Greeley’s Landing on Sebec Lake. The sign to the park entrance is on the left. Follow State Park Road to the gates entrance.
From Dexter: Follow Route 7 to Dover-Foxcroft. At the traffic light turn left. Move to the right land at the next traffic light and turn right onto Rt 153. Follow Rt. 153 straight for approximately 4.5 miles to Greeley’s Landing on Sebec Lake. The sign to the park entrance is on the left. Follow State Park Road to the gates entrance.
From Bangor: Routes 15 to the traffic first light in Dover-Foxcroft. Go straight through that light , but move into the right lane at the second light. Turn right at the second traffic light and follow Rt. 153 straight for approximately 4.5 miles to Greeley’s Landing on Sebec Lake. The sign to the park entrance is on the left. Follow Park Road to the gates entrance.
